An opinionated Jewel got on her husband Ty Murray ‘s MySpace blog to express her qualms with one rule of “Dancing with the Stars.” The singer and former “Dancing” contestant believes that if you can’t dance, then you can’t compete. Her blog post comes after contestant Melissa Rycroft did not compete this week due to a rib injury and was judged on her rehearsal video. “As bad as I felt for Melissa, who I hope feels better and comes back, I’m used to our cowboy athletes that live by the rule: ‘Ride hurt or don’t get a score,’” Jewel said of the competitor’s injury.

Julianne Hough says she won’t return to Dancing With the Stars next season. Hough, who was eliminated from the dancing competition this week along with her boyfriend Chuck Wicks, will take time off from the show to pursue her country music career. Wicks is also a country singer.
Even though Matt Giraud only finished fifth in “American Idol”‘s eighth season, he did make “Idol” history as the first competitor to get a boost by the “judges save.” Matt was originally voted off on April 15, which would have made him the seventh-place finalist, but judge Simon Cowell informed him that night that he would get to sing another week, courtesy of the judges. “I can’t wait to see my name on a trivia card,” Matt jokes, “I feel blessed. Being saved was one of the coolest moments of my life. It made me feel special.”
