Police have arrested a man in their investigation into the death of Ashley “A.J.” Jewell , the former fiancé of “The Housewives of Atlanta”‘s Kandi Burruss , reports Atlanta’s WSBTV.com. Atlanta police tell WSBTV they’ve arrested Fredrick Richardson , who’s been charged with voluntary manslaughter. Richardson is being held at a detention center as a result of his injuries; authorities say he’ll be taken to jail once medical personnel clear him to go.

Police say the former fiancé of a star on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” has died following a fight outside an Atlanta club on Friday night. The Associated Press reports that Kandi Burress ‘ ex-fiancé, Ashley “A.J.” Jewell , died from “massive head injuries” sustained in the fight, which took place in the parking lot of a strip club where police say Jewell worked. “It appears he was involved in an altercation in the parking lot and he received a severe blow to the head,” a police lieutenant tells Atlanta’s WSBTV. “We have developed a person of interest and we’ve made contact with him to question him about the incident.”

ET has obtained court documents that demonstrate that Robert Halderman , the man arrested for allegedly attempting to extort $2 million from David Letterman , was required to pay significant monthly child support and alimony payments. The “48 Hours” producer is required to pay $6,800 per month in alimony and child support to ex-wife Patty Montet , with whom he has two children. In May of 2011, that figure will drop to $5,966.66.
